Germany will pile on the agony: Kroos

Top dogs are out to pile on the pain, warns Kroos

TONI KROOS insists Germany are coming to Glasgow hellbent on ending Scotland’s hopes of reaching next summer’s Euro finals.

The Real Madrid playmaker is adamant the world champions will heap further misery on Gordon Strachan’s men by taking all three points at Hampden tomorrow night.

Germany leapfrogged Poland at the summit of Group D on Friday with a hugely impressive 3-1 victory in Frankfurt.

A stunning double from Mario Gotze and a typically-clinical strike from Thomas Muller, his sixth of the campaign, put the Poles to the sword and provided the perfect warm-up for Joachim Low’s star-studded side ahead of their clash with the Scots. Kroos said: ‘It was a convincing performance given the circumstances that we faced.

‘We knew that we had to beat Poland and we delivered on that. Now we can take the decisive step on Monday in Glasgow.

‘We said at the beginning of this international break we wanted to win both of the matches. It may be a little uncomfortable in Scotland, but we are forewarned and ready.

‘There were one or two moments against Poland when we invited their chances by making errors, but if we have good positional play in Glasgow and avoid making those mistakes again, then we will win the game.’

Kroos also insisted Germany will not be intimidated by the bully-boy tactics he expects an under-pressure Scotland outfit to adopt at the national stadium.

He said: ‘It is always difficult going to Glasgow because Scotland won’t try to play so much football.

‘They will be aggressive and will make things as hard as possible for us.

‘It was also hard game for us against Poland, but we knew it was going to be like that and we played well.’
