Is this TV’s sexiest ever wardrobe?

Stunning gowns that float away? M&S knickers? Yes, it's all part of the Night Manager Moll look!

IT IS the show that gave us unparalleled views of Tom Hiddleston’s bottom.

But the BBC’s £20 million adaptation of John le Carré’s The Night Manager, which reaches a thrilling conclusion tonight, has also become a weekly fashion show thanks to Elizabeth Debicki’s character, Jed. The 6ft 2in actress, who plays the girlfriend of arms dealer Richard Roper (played by Hugh Laurie) may not wear the clothes for long, but her enviable collection of Grecian floaty frocks and expensive underwear (well, bar a pair from M&S) has garnered quite a fan club among viewers.

Costume designer Signe Sejlund, who described Ms Debicki as an ‘extremely elegant giraffe’, told The Mail on Sunday she had trouble finding outfits that were long enough for the Amazonian actress.

‘I had to discard a lot of clothes I brought to the fitting because although they would have been full length on a normal person, on Elizabeth they came just below her knee,’ Ms Sejlund said.

And she revealed how some of Jed’s dresses were specially designed to slip off easily. ‘I liked the idea of Jed being one button or a zip away from being completely naked,’ Sejlund added. ‘The blue dress Jed discards to go swimming naked in the sea was specially designed to slip off.’

Ms Debicki did not wear much underneath her dresses, but she was never naked. Ms Sejlund said: ‘There are so many things you can use to cover up, including the use of nipple shields.’

Now The Mail on Sunday has hunted down the designers to bring you the secrets behind the sexiest wardrobe on television...
