FROCK AND AWE! It’s neck and neck (or thigh and thigh) in Battle of the Dresses
FOR many Britain’s Got Talent viewers, the Battle of the Dresses between judges Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon has been the stand-out act. But those hoping for a decisive winner from last night’s live final may have been disappointed.
Because as they stepped on to the stage in jaw-dropping outfits, they appeared to be neck and neck in the fashion stakes. Mother-of-two Amanda looked stunning in a flowing white belted dress by designer Ali Younes. Meanwhile, Alesha, 37, wore an outfit by Idan Cohen, matched with Miu Miu shoes.
There had been intense speculation about what the two women would wear. Throughout the series, they have dazzled in a series of revealing outfits which have little to the imagination.
Amanda, 45, was often deemed to have stolen the limelight from her friend. But last night, social media users appeared to be split over who came out on top.
In an interview published yesterday, Amanda revealed that months of planning had gone into her BGT wardrobe: ‘It’s the biggest week of my calendar. What girl wouldn’t want to get dressed up?’
She also insisted a risque white gown with a side-split that she had previously worn had – at least initially – been approved by her husband Chris.
She explained: ‘I put the dress on and Chris said, “That looks really good”… then I turned to the side to put my earrings on – and he yelled!’
With an hour to go before the final, Amanda posted a picture of herself in the make-up department heaving with products, alongside the caption: ‘Last-minute touches.’
