Nice hair, Charles – did you have a facelift too?

-

HE ONCE lost five stone by eating nothing but eggs for nine months, but has Charles Saatchi’s vanity taken him to even more extreme lengths?

The 73-year-old – who normally wears his curly locks slightly long – has recently been spotted sporting a dramatic hipster-style haircut with short back and sides, which takes years off him.

But it appears the Iraqi-born art dealer neglected to check the back of his new style, because it exposes some unusual marks running from the front of each ear to the back of his hairline.

The marks are similar to facelift scars and when I asked three of the country’s leading cosmetic surgeons, they agreed. One said: ‘If the same scar is on the opposite side, it probably was a facelift.’

The scars were visible as Charles chatted to actress Liz Hurley at the society wedding of former weather girl Tania Bryer to hedge fund manager Rod Barker last month.

And other photos recently taken of the millionaire at his favourite restaurant Scott’s in Mayfair, Central London – where he was famously pictured throttling his ex-wife Nigella Lawson in 2013 – reveal the same marks on the other side of his face.

Surgeons often leave scars during the procedure, in which two flaps of skin are cut at the temples and then pulled back and stitched behind the ears. Most women cover them with long hair.

Charles’s previous haircut covered the lines, which are unlikely to be recent. However, that may be of little consolation to his girlfriend Trinny Woodall. Although the 52-year-old has admitted to having Botox, she has insisted she would never consider surgery. ‘I’d never have a facelift as I’ve never seen anyone who has one that looks good,’ she has said. Charles’s spokesman refused to comment when I asked if there was a chance he may have had surgery.
