Murray finally has company as Brits battle into top 50 of world rankings

-

ANDY MURRAY has been used to flying the flag for British men’s tennis by himself over the years, but he could soon have company in the world’s top 50.

Kyle Edmund and Dan Evans have both enjoyed incredible seasons and their rapid rise in the rankings reflects an upturn in fortunes for our top tennis stars.

Six years ago, Murray was the only Brit inside the top 100 as the hopes of a nation rested on his shoulders. But Edmund and Evans, along with Aljaz Bedene and James Ward, have all reached career high rankings in the last 12 months, and could be set to reach even greater heights by the end of this year.
