KYLE EDMUND’S one previous meeting against Novak Djokovic was in March this year in Miami, a second-round match which the world No 1 won 6-3 6-3. Given that Edmund trails Djokovic by 66 career titles, 12 grand slams and the small matter of £76.7m in prize money, perhaps it was not a huge surprise.
