Twins Richard and Tom Hewitt are through to the last eight with South Staffs in the Mail on Sunday Classic after an incredible win at Chester club Vicars Cross, writes Cara Sloman. It is a record run for the club who are one match away from a place in the November grand finals of the team event at El Rompido in Spain. Richard gave the side a flying start by winning 5&4, but the rest were close matches. County player Tom, off scratch, sealed his game with a birdie at the 17th to win 2&1 as the visitors notched a 3½-1½ overall victory.
