FAT-FREEZING is being aggressively marketed north of the Border as beauticians attempt to cash in on the phenomenon and undercut cosmetic surgery clinics.

Alongside deals for manicures and eyebrow waxing, cryolipolysis is now on offer across Scotland – with huge discounts available. The MoS found some salons charging a tenth of centres run by established cosmetic surgeons.

Some offered extra incentives to customers willing to get treatment done that day and 2-for-1 deals.

Others spoke of celebrity fans. Leaflets from Sunset Beach tanning salon in Glasgow claimed: ‘Celebrities and royalty like Kate Middleton, Amy Childs and Coleen Rooney have all confessed to using 3D-Lipo to help their weight loss.’

Roy Cowley, managing director of 3D-Lipo Ltd, which operates the fat-freezing machines at Sunset Beach, said: ‘3D-Lipo has performed over one million treatments within the UK. All our treatments are completely safe. We continue to be recognised industry leaders due to our long-standing reputation and customer satisfaction.

‘We have never received a single insurance claim.’
