It’s Fergie, the Royal robot

THERE must have been many occasions over the years when certain members of the Royal Family wished the Duchess of York was a robot they could control. Last week their dream became a reality when Fergie, left, donned a Telesar V ‘virtual puppet’ suit. The gadget, developed by researchers at Tokyo University, uses the wearer’s movements to control an android double. The former wife of the Duke of York, certainly seemed to be enjoying herself, watching her double strike various silly poses during the technology summit in California.
