Ruthless Mundell misses Dolly duet

-

SADLY Ruth’s showbiz ambitions did not stretch to helping out Mr Mundell at the conference karaoke. The Scottish Secretary had promised journalists that he would do a Kenny Rogers and give a rendition of Islands In The Stream – but instead fell asleep in his hotel room, apparently suffering from exhaustion, and missed the event. Had Miss Davidson been taking the Dolly Parton role in the duet, pictured, she would no doubt have roused him from his slumbers and dragged him to the microphone. Now he is having to hire an Edinburgh karaoke venue to make good his promise. That’s what you get for being Ruthless. MUSICALLY the Tories rocked out at their conference, kicking off with Aerosmith’s Come Together and hailing Theresa May on the final day with She’s A Star by Manchester rockers James. But how will the Nats serenade Nicola Sturgeon at their conference in Glasgow this week? Independent Women by Destiny’s Child might seem a good choice – but some find Fool’s Gold by the Stone Roses more apt.
