Let’s honour Churchill
Marco Polo, John F. Kennedy, Charles de Gaulle and John Foster Dulles all have international airports named after them, and rightly so. So more than 70 years after the end of the Second World War, is it not now time for Heathrow to be renamed Sir Winston Churchill Airport?
There are very few memorials in the UK carrying the great man’s name, and certainly none of any importance. As a war veteran myself, I find it repugnant that Churchill has been largely ignored.
This thought goes far beyond politics. I have been a Labour voter all my life, but Churchill’s magnificent wartime leadership transcends all political considerations.
Let it be Sir Winston Churchill Airport – and soon.
