Hamilton snaps at pic critics

LEWIS HAMILTON refused to answer questions after the qualifying round for the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka.

The world champion said he was angry at newspaper coverage of his behaviour following a press conference on Thursday, where he had spent time on his phone taking pictures of other drivers and posting them on Snapchat.

‘I’m not actually here to answer your questions,’ he said. ‘The other day was a super light-hearted thing. If you felt that I was disrespectful, it was honestly not the intention. It was just a little bit of fun.

‘What was more disrespectful is what was then written. The decision I will take affects those [journalists] who have been super supportive.

‘I don’t really plan on sitting here many more times for these kind of things.’

Earlier, Hamilton had missed out on pole position by 0.013sec to title rival Nico Rosberg.
