The festive top guaranteed for 30 Christmases

-

TOM CRIDLAND, who is loved by celebrities for his sustainable fashion, has started selling £65 Christmas sweatshirts with a 30-year guarantee.

The young designer, who founded Tom Cridland in 2014 at the age of 23, said his long-lasting sweatshirt promotes an important ‘buy less, buy better’ ideology.

He said: ‘It is a sustainable fashion project designed to lead an industry trend towards protecting our natural resources by making truly durable clothing.’

Cridland initially set out in the business aiming to create the perfect chinos and sell them directly to customers online.

Last year he launched the 30year sweatshirt with the aim of making a stand against ‘fast fashion’.

‘I graduated from the University of Bristol in 2013,’ he said. ‘I had a plan to create a sustainable fashion label and, a few months after graduation, thanks to a successful application for a £6,000 Government Start-Up Loan, the Tom Cridland brand was born. ‘Making a mark on the fashion industry was not easy with no previous experience but, together with my business partner and girlfriend of seven years, Debs Marx, I developed the 30-year sweatshirt, a garment we guarantee to last 30 years to fight fast fashion and throwaway culture.

‘Fashion is the second most polluting industry after oil.

‘The reaction to this sustainable fashion project has been overwhelming with us even making clothing for the likes of Daniel Craig, Rod Stewart and Ben Stiller.’
