How Ewan’s little girl is on verge of conquering the New York catwalk
AS the daughter of one of our most successful actors, she is no stranger to posing for the cameras. Now Clara, the daughter of Ewan McGregor, is taking it to a whole new level after the 20-year-old landed a contract with Wilhelmina Models – one of the world’s ‘big three’ agencies, known for launching David Bowie’s wife Iman. Clara – the eldest of McGregor’s four daughters with wife Eve Mavrakis – last week revealed her whirlwind rise to modelling fame. She said: ‘I had a friend in one of my classes at New York University who interns for them and managed to get me in touch with some mutual people. ‘It all happened really quickly. I literally just signed my contract before Christmas.’ Clara is studying photography at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and has already launched an online gallery of her work, which features male and female nudes, self-portraits and family photos.
Last summer, she made her movie debut in Groove, about buskers who find success at a music competition.
Last week, she was chosen by Vogue as one of its ‘seven girls to follow’.
The magazine wrote: ‘If McGregor’s pout and nonchalant attitude seem familiar, it’s likely because she takes after her father, Trainspotting star Ewan McGregor. Though she bears a resemblance to her famous dad, Clara isn’t a carbon copy.
‘She’s the latest celebrity daughter to engage in fashion and with her expressive good looks, it’s easy to see why.
‘On Instagram, she’s a charming presence, delivering plenty of travel shots, artfully composed selfies and the occasional behind-the-scenes film moment.’
