Franz for the chips, says SNP Jacqueline
WHEN Franz Ferdinand singer Alex Kapranos, pictured, wrote a song about a girl called Jacqueline, he never imagined it would become a hymn to Scottish independence. But Jacqueline Cameron, who once went out with the band’s drummer, is now standing as an SNP candidate in the Renfrewshire Council election. And the song she inspired neatly sums up the economic case for independence with the line: ‘But for chips and for freedom I could die.’
