Isle of Mone! Baroness Bra sets up home with billionaire lover in tax haven for rich and famous
SHE claims to have finally ‘met her match’ with her new billionaire boyfriend Doug Barrowman.
Now, after less than six months with superyacht owner Scots businessman Mr Barrowman, lingerie tycoon Michelle Mone has set up home with him on the Isle of Man – a tax haven for the rich and famous.
The Glasgow-born Tory
‘I love my Isle of Man home’
peer took to Twitter yesterday to announce the news, writing ‘I love my new #IOM home’ along with a photograph of herself in a fishtail ballgown and her significant other in a dinner suit ‘celebrating’ there.
The couple went public with their relationship last December and have since been pictured strolling hand in hand, enjoying Christmas and taking a ski holiday together. They got together soon after the Ultimo founder broke up with Barbados-based golfer Stefan Soroka.
Mr Barrowman, 52, from Rutherglen, Lanarkshire, owns five Ferraris and made his fortune in private equity and property.
He appeared on the Channel 4 documentary Million Pound Mega Yachts with his £50 million vessel Turquoise – one of two he owns. It has a crew of 13, an outdoor cinema, a grand piano in the lounge and hand-made silk carpets.
He relocated from Cheshire in 2008 to the £120 million mansion he now shares with Baroness Mone on the Isle of Man, where people resident for more than six months a year pay only 20 per cent income tax, capped at £120,000.
However, a spokesman for Baroness Mone said she ‘will always remain a UK taxpayer’, adding: ‘Her main residence is Scotland and London.’
