SKY’S THE LIMIT FOR LIVINGSTON YOUNG GUNS, CLAIMS BUCHANAN

- By Fraser Mackie

LIAM BUCHANAN hopes to have played a leading role in Livingston lads Matthew Knox and Danny Mullen moving on to bigger things.

For the sake of the League One champions, holding on to such top talent will be key to their Championship chances next season.

However, 27-goal Buchanan has yet to agree a new deal and he is sure Mullen — under contract until 2018 — and teenage protégé Knox will attract interest.

‘I’ve enjoyed working with the younger boys like Matty and Danny, and helping to bring them on,’ said Buchanan.

‘I’ve total belief in them. They all look like men when, before, they were wee boys. You can see the maturity in their display. That means they would maybe merit moves.’

Buchanan and Mullen are up for PFA Scotland League One Player of the Year honours, along with Alloa’s Jordan Kirkpatrick and Andy Ryan from Airdrieonians.
