Sex pest? I was just dad dancing, insists Pippa’s colourful uncle ...

FLAMBOYANT Gary Goldsmith last night hit back at claims that he behaved like a sex pest while on a golfing holiday in Portugal in the run-up to his niece Pippa Middleton’s wedding, stating defiantly: ‘I was only dad-dancing.’

Gary is happy to admit that, like his nephew-in-law Prince William, he is partial to throwing some dodgy dance floor moves on his holidays.

But he insists he did not pester a 37-year-old woman and her 17-year-old daughter for a threesome – as was reported in the press yesterday.

He said: ‘I would never be that inappropriate. They can condemn me for dad-dancing, but as far as I know that is not a crime. There is no way I would have spoken to these women in the way they say I did. It is just not my style.

‘I’m an exuberant personality and enjoy having fun, but on this occasion I had been up early playing golf and was struggling to stay awake.

‘I did nothing more than have a chat with two women at the bar.’

He is consulting lawyers over the claims that he pestered the women, who have remained anonymous, at a bar during a holiday in Portugal’s Algarve last month with close friend Brett Ennals.

The mother, an accountant who was on holiday with her daughter, claimed that Gary fondled her at a piano bar and made lewd remarks.

Gary said: ‘I remember speaking to these women for a few minutes but I certainly didn’t make any lewd comments.’

Gary, 53, is the younger brother of Carole Middleton, mother to Pippa and the Duchess of Cambridge. He went to Pippa’s wedding with his 15-year-old daughter Tallulah. His fourth wife, Julie-Ann, was not invited.

Brett, who like Gary works in recruitment, added: ‘These women’s claims are categorically untrue.’

In March, Prince William was unwittingly filmed dancing at a club during a lads’ ski trip to Verbier.
