Fallon: Coalition of chaos won’t keep Britain safe
SCOTS security will be weaker under an SNP and Labour ‘coalition of chaos’, Michael Fallon warns.
The Defence Secretary claims Jeremy Corbyn and the Nationalists will combine to scrap Trident.
Speaking to The Scottish Mail on Sunday, he urged Scots to vote Conservative as the party ‘will never weaken our defences’.
Mr Fallon added: ‘Jeremy Corbyn agrees with Nicola Sturgeon on scrapping our nuclear deterrent.
‘There is a very real risk that, as Prime Minister, he would do Nicola Sturgeon’s bidding and shut down Faslane, costing thousands of jobs and weakening our security.
‘This is the very real danger presented by two political leaders who don’t believe in doing what it takes to keep Britain safe.’
Argyll and Bute SNP candidate Brendan O’Hara said: ‘These claims would have a bit more credibility if the Tories didn’t have such a shameful record on defence in Scotland.’
Scottish Labour campaign manager James Kelly said: ‘This is increasingly desperate stuff.’
