Lib Dems do battle in bankrupt motor
KEEN to portray the Scottish Lib Dems as a party of the future, election campaign manager Alex ColeHamilton MSP staged a photo call with an obsolete DeLorean car – made by a defunct Belfast-based car company that went bankrupt in 1982. With Lib Dem Scottish leader Willie Rennie playing Marty McFly, star of the Back To The Future films which feature a DeLorean car, the obscure stunt took a pop at the SNP’s attempt to get back to the 2014 referendum and re-run it. But as a smoke bomb obscured Mr Rennie, one onlooker quipped: ‘That’s yer career, Willie!’
