Patrick Fallis, fitness coach and founder of Leaner UK, says: ‘An average person, who trains a few days a week, will be sore after a workout when they first start training. But after settling into a weekly routine, while you may feel stiff for a day or so after a session, it should not be painful. If we are training ourselves to the point of pain, it can affect sleep and overall recovery.’
