Insurer’s EU health move

-

FEARS that British workers abroad could lose access to free or reduced cost medical treatment in the EU after Brexit have prompted the launch of a new international insurance product for small and mediumsized enterprises.

Allianz Worldwide Care’s Andy Seale said: ‘There’s a huge number of people who have set up home abroad who have been benefiting from the European Health Insurance Card. The request from the Government is to keep some element of that, but the feeling among insurers is that things like that will be removed.’

Allianz Worldwide Care will launch its flexible international private medical insurance on Tuesday.

There are 528,000 British long-term residents of EU countries aged 30-64.
