A simply mind-boggling crowd of 149,547 squeezed into Hampden to see the Scots fall a goal behind. But a double from Rangers’ Bob McPhail and a goal from Preston’s Frank O’Donnell gave the Scots the win. It still remains as the largest ever crowd to watch an internatio­nal match in Europe.
