Wozniacki is teaching the kids a thing or two

-

FORMER world No1 Caroline Wozniacki has been handing out some tough lessons to the kids this week.

The Dane (right) is through to the second week and she has yet to play anyone over the age of 20. She beat 18-year-old Californian Cici Bellis 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 yesterday, Francoise Abanda (20) in the second round and Jaimee Fourlis (17) in the first.

It will be a big change up for Wozniacki in the last 16, when she meets 31-year-old Svetlana Kuznetsova. With her great friend Serena Williams out of the picture, this could be a big chance for the 26year-old to land that elusive first Grand Slam title.

Caroline Garcia and Alize Cornet yesterday joined Kristina Mladenovic in reaching the second week, meaning there are three Frenchwomen in the last 16 at Roland Garros for the first time since 1994.

Mary Pierce was the last French winner of the women’s title here, in 2000.
