Pushchair texters put young lives in peril

-

Your Prize Letter last week pointed out how many mums text at the wheel of car. I have seen both men and women on the pavements of busy roads, pushing buggies and pushchairs and staring at their mobile phones.

They are totally oblivious to what is going on around them and often stick the pushchair off the pavement edge before crossing the road and don’t even look to see if any vehicles are coming.

Parents need to decide what their priority is – their child or a phone message, which would keep until it’s safe to stop and deal with. Joan Hamilton-Smith, Tunbridge Wells
