CRICKET: Captain Graeme Cremer claimed five wickets as Zimbabwe levelled the two-match ODI series with Scotland after a six-wicket win in Edinburgh. Cremer’s third five-wicket haul curtailed Scotland as they were dismissed for a disappointing 169 and the tourists reached their target with 13 overs to spare. Kyle Coetzer struck 61 and Calum MacLeod added 58 but the hosts slipped from a promising position of 135 for two to go down.

HOCKEY: Scotland suffered a 3-0 defeat to the Netherlands in their World League encounter in London. The Scots had already lost their opening Pool B encounter, 4-1 to India. England, meanwhile, earlier made it two wins from two in Pool A after a comprehensive 7-3 victory against Malaysia yesterday.

SUPERBIKES: Jonathan Rea remounted and finished third after he and Chaz Davies crashed on the final lap of the first race at Misano, Italy. Double champion Rea, who was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours, had his title lead reduced to 46 points, after Tom Sykes took the win.
