ME and my MONEY

-

SOWETO Kinch, the awardwinning saxophonist and rapper, believes buy-to-let investors are partly to blame for the backlash against the Conservative party last week among the young.

He objects to anyone who owns three or more properties and says investors are choking the ability of firsttime buyers to get on the housing ladder. Kinch, a twotime Mobo winner, who Amy Winehouse had been hoping to collaborate with before her death, would impose a tax on anyone who plays, performs and promotes mediocre music if he were Chancellor.

He is hoping to rescue jazz from its current abode in a ‘posh ivory tower’ and is currently starring in Jesus Piece, a four-part drama on BBC local radio stations, available on BBC iPlayer.

Now 39, he lives in Hounslow, West London, with his father, the playwright Don Kinch, and brother Toyi.
