Acid attacks: man in court
A MAN has appeared in court charged with throwing acid into two people’s faces, leaving them with ‘life-changing’ injuries.
Rahad Hussain, 23, of East London, is accused of the attack on Mohammed Afzal Hushain Ahmed and Mohammad Shakwat Hussain in Bethnal Green last Tuesday.
It is claimed he threw a corrosive substance into a Volkswagen car the two alleged victims were in in an unprovoked attack. He was charged with wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.
A Met Police spokesman said of the injured: ‘While their condition is not being treated as lifethreatening, it is being treated as life-changing.’ Hussain gave no plea at Thames Magistrates, East London, yesterday. He was remanded to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on August 29.
