Ross still loves a grapple

HE HAS developed a ‘hard-man’ image from following soldiers on the front line and playing Grant Mitchell in EastEnders. Now actor Ross Kemp has revealed he likes a good spar in real life – and gets his fix through martial arts. The star, below, who turned 53 last week, is currently hosting Sky series Extreme World, which investigates extreme criminal activity. He says: ‘I do have to work really hard to stay in shape and keep fit. I used to play rugby but I am too old now. ‘But I am a bit of a mixed martial-arts fan – though I don’t really want to go in a cage at my age!’ He admits his martial-arts habit has led to scrapes, and he is now sporting a grazed head. He says: ‘I like going training and doing a bit of grappling. ‘This is why I have had to cover my grazed bald head with make-up at the moment.’
