Proud day for Britain in the pool
SWIMMING:
Ben Proud and James Guy took Great Britain’s World Championships medal tally to six with bronze medals on the penultimate day of competition in Budapest.
Proud (above) and Guy won medals in the 50m freestyle and 100m butterfly, respectively, with Caeleb Dressel of the United States winning gold in both events.
TENNIS:
Britain’s Kyle Edmund knocked out top seed Jack Sock to reach the semi-finals of the Atlanta Open. The 22-year-old won comfortably in straight sets 6-4, 6-1 and took on another American, fifth seed Ryan Harrison, for a place in tonight’s final in Georgia.
RUGBY LEAGUE:
Challenge Cup holders Hull FC powered their way into another Wembley final after running in seven tries against Leeds Rhinos at the Keepmoat Stadium for an emphatic 43-24 win. Wigan face Salford in today’s other semi-final.
