£3m legacy of leading Tory ‘wet’Jim Prior

JIM PRIOR, who served as Northern Ireland Secretary under Margaret Thatcher and was known as one of her leading ‘wets’, left £3,041,141 in his will. Lord Prior, below, who died aged 89 last December, spent three years in the post. Probate records show the father-of-four left the bulk of his estate to his family as well as £5,000 legacies to several staff at his estate in Suffolk. His wife Jane died in 2015.
