Love the app but wish I had the pug

-

THE most expensive of the three cards available in terms of monthly payment, go Henry is also the most flexible. You can transfer money into a parent account and then use this to pay the children either weekly pocket money or a standing order. You can set up tasks so your children can earn more cash. You can also claw money back if your children’s behaviour is not up to scratch.

I like the fact you can choose whether the cards can be used online, in store or everywhere – and can enable and disable contactless payments using my phone. Your children can see the PIN on their app, and you can block and unblock the card instantly on the phone as well – useful if they think the card is lost.

My children liked the ability to set a savings goal, and the card worked well for us instore and online. It was a doddle to open (goHenry uses online databases to check your ID before opening), and the card offers a one-month free trial. They would also have liked the £4.99 customised option, which most of their friends seem to have, but I was too mean to allow this. Verdict: Nifty technology, if you can stomach the £6 a month price tag for two children. Daisy says: ‘I like the way that you can go off with this card without saying, “Can I have my money”. It’s brilliant that it has an app so I can check what I have got left, and see my PIN. I would have liked the card with the pug and my name on it, but Mum wouldn’t let me.’
