It only took me an hour to fill in the form online

MEDIA relations worker Kirsty Howe has filed her tax form online for the first time this year after missing the October deadline for paper filing.

Kirsty, 26, who lives in Clapham, South-West London, says there were a few issues getting started and she spent some time on the phone to Revenue and Customs.

But after the wrinkles were ironed out she found the process relatively straightforward.

Kirsty says: ‘Getting all the paperwork together took the longest time. Completing the form itself online took less than an hour.

‘It was reassuring to know I could save where I was up to in case there were issues or I needed to call Revenue again for help.’

For the past five years she had stuck to the paper forms

‘I had avoided filing online before because I thought it would be easier to complete a paper form,’ she adds. ‘But the online system was easy and it calculates the tax you owe, which can be frightening.’
