Scotland job looks best bet for O’Neill
IT looks like the SFA’s pursuit of Michael O’Neill (right) is now reaching its end game. Conflicting reports are beginning to spill out over ultimatums, impending decisions and contractual small print. For sure, there will be questions to ask of chief executive Stewart Regan if he does not get his man. However, there will also be questions to ask of O’Neill. Northern Ireland have a core of key players who are reaching the end of the road and there does not appear to be an awful lot coming through to replace them.
Scotland offer O’Neill a greater chance of success.
Whatever the stories coming from across the water, it would be a surprise if he stayed put. And a mistake.
