Village green? We’d prefer fast broadband
A FAST broadband connection is now considered to be one of the key requirements when choosing where to retire, according to new research.
Almost two-thirds of those over 55 said good internet was vital – and more important than a village green, which was favoured by just a quarter of those surveyed. The single most important issue was safety, ranked highest by 85 per cent of the poll of 539 people.
Jane Ashcroft, boss of retirement-home provider Anchor, which commissioned the research, said: ‘Features such as a good internet connection are a cornerstone of any new development.’
