We Nimbys need to be listened to
Further to your letters last week responding to Peter Hitchens’s brilliant article defending Nimbys, I would like to say he is speaking for thousands of us.
We moved to Banbury nine years ago and bought a house on the edge of the town overlooking farmland. We were assured at the time that it would not be built on.
Now we have 350 houses going up on our doorstep. The noise, dust and disruption are appalling. We understand the need for more houses, but do they need to all go on greenfield sites? Margaret Monk, Banbury, Oxfordshire
Of course there’s a need for house-building, but the wishes of locals, including Nimbys, need to be considered too. B. Frost, Horsham, West Sussex
