Boyfriend ‘has links to Russian security service’
YULIA Skripal’s mysterious fiance was named last night as 30-year-old Stepan Vikeev.
Reports have suggested Mr Vikeev and his mother have links to Russian intelligence. He went into hiding following the nerve agent attack in Salisbury and has avoided Yulia’s family.
It is understood he is being investigated by Moscow authorities amid bizarre claims circulating in Russia that the attack may have been a ‘domestic’ dispute. Mr Vikeev’s mother Tatiana Vikeeva, 61, reportedly said she did not want her son to marry the ‘daughter of a traitor’.
She heads a secretive research centre – the Institute of Modern Security Problems – where it is believed her son also worked.
