Pots of goodness! (and seriously sinful sarnies)

It’s yes to yogurt but a big NO to choc-chip nut bars in our survey of the saints and sinners of the takeaway breakfast world

-

LEISURELY mornings spent crunching cornflakes, munching muesli or even filling up on a full British at the breakfast table are officially over. According to new YouGov figures, almost half of all Britons grab their morning meal on the go – saying they don’t have time to sit down for a traditional breakfast.

We’re now a nation of rushed convenience, with sales of cereal dropping for the fourth consecutive year as profits from on-the-go breakfasts rise by almost 15 per cent. The trend may also be down to the huge range of options on offer, from muffin and coffee combos to exotic fruit salads, steaming oat pots and even an alfresco fry-up.

However, it’s clear that some of those quick, convenient choices aren’t always the healthiest.

Thankfully, delicious and nutritious on-the-go brekkies are available nationwide – the trick is knowing where to find them.

Here’s our round-up of the breakfast saints and sinners to enjoy or avoid as you start the day…
