Gyles offers Judi bear’s necessities

DAME JUDI Dench has given her beloved childhood teddy bear to Gyles Brandreth (left with the Oscar-winning actress). Last week Dame Judi took ‘Bear’ to Yorkshire’s Newby Hall, home to Gyles’s collection of 1,000 valuable teddies, which includes the original Paddington. ‘Bear was my beloved childhood companion and went everywhere with me,’ said Judi, 82. ‘He’s on his spring break!’ said Gyles, 70, who is still chuckling about how his April Fool last week – when he claimed he had been asked by Prince Harry to organise a teddy bears’ picnic for Meghan Markle – went viral. ‘I know Harry has a fondness for teddy bears. It is a nice idea, isn’t it? he said.
