FULL SET FOR LIVVY A JOY FOR HOPKIN
LIVINGSTON manager David Hopkin paid tribute to his team’s set-piece mastery as they overcame Morton for a hard-fought victory.
All five goals in the game came from corners and long throws. Livvy’s win boosted their hopes of securing the runners-up place.
Defender Alan Lithgow was the hosts’ hero, scoring a crucial double and playing his part in setting up Jackson Longridge for the other goal.
Livvy’s win postponed champions-elect St Mirren’s title celebrations and kept them six clear of third-placed Dunfermline.
‘I thought you saw the two best teams in the division at set-plays,’ said Hopkin.
‘Jim Duffy (Morton boss) has Thomas O’Ware and Ricki Lamie, who both scored today.
‘We scored from a long throw and two corners and I’m delighted with the result.
‘That’s 15 goals between Alan Lithgow and Craig Halkett now from defence. The two of them have been magnificent.’
