only had 55 minutes of game time, which isn’t enough.

‘It was a surprise to get back in. The other results have gone for us, which is important because it gets us back into second before the post-split games, which will be tough.’

Aberdeen lost at Hearts and Hibs needed a last-minute goal to return from Dingwall with a draw, leaving Rangers ahead of the Dons on goal difference and three points clear of Hibs.

‘We needed a win,’ added Miller. ‘It looks comfortable but was hard-fought. Only towards the end at 2-0 was the weight off our shoulders and we could play with confidence.

‘To not win for three games at Rangers is unacceptable. It was important to bounce back.’

‘I’d relish the chance to go in against Celtic next week, of course,’ he declared. ‘It’s a massive game, a Scottish Cup semi-final and we want to win the trophy.

‘If selected, I’d be delighted to play because it will be a fantastic occasion. Hopefully I can keep the jersey.
