Emilia is at top of her game

-

Well done Emilia Clarke for setting up a charity for people with brain injuries. The Game Of Thrones actress (right) reportedly suffered a brain aneurysm in 2013 so it is good that she is donating to an area she seems to know a bit about. I don’t like it when celebrities look as if they are jumping on the bandwagon of a fashionable cause to which they have no connection.

I also like the fact she hasn’t talked about any medical problem – save from posting a picture of herself on Instagram in what looked like a hospital waiting room, captioned: ‘No one gets through life unscathed, a sad fact we all know.’

And she didn’t comment on the charity for your article. She lets the work do the talking, which is as it should be. J. Benn, London Emilia Clarke was apparently admitted to the New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. I had a serious brain injury last December through ice skating in Central Park and woke up in their intensive care unit. I can honestly say the care they gave me was absolutely fantastic. I had a private room with a nurse who checked my blood pressure and condition every hour.

Before I left, they gave me advice on handling any future problems, such as walking and going upstairs (it was like walking on sponge). They also gave me three scans before allowing me to fly home and were extremely efficient in every way. Peter Wyles, Rustington, West Sussex
