A Cup final worry for Robinson after Rose injury blow

- By Jim Black

MOTHERWELL manager Stephen Robinson fears that he could be without central midfielder Andy Rose for next month’s Scottish Cup final against Celtic.

Rose was forced to go off midway through the first half at the Global Energy Stadium with a suspected broken collarbone.

Robinson said: ‘We’re still waiting for confirmation as to whether Andy has broken it or not. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for him that it is maybe just how he has landed and it is bruising.

‘It was a tough game and it was always going to be because County are fighting for their lives and neither team held anything back.

‘We’ve had a fractured cheekbone and a broken collarbone in the last two games and we’ll have to deal with that.

‘I felt we should have come away with a win as there were chances in the second half — but that’s our 18th clean sheet of the season, so we’re very happy with that.’

Ross County co-caretaker manager Steve Ferguson added: ‘We take lots of positives from the game, although we find ourselves at the bottom of the league.

‘It’s never about what other teams are doing at this stage in the season, it’s what we’re doing and we’re a point closer to Hamilton.

‘Every one of our players played their part in fighting for every little scrap and if we’re not going to win the game, we have to make sure we don’t lose it.’
