It’s Pride before a fail in park lockout
HUNDREDS of people planning to attend Scotland’s largest-ever Pride celebration were locked out following major ticketing problems.
The event at Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Park – after a parade led by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, below – reached full capacity by midafternoon, with huge numbers holding valid tickets and wristbands denied entrance.
Organisers were last night trying to resolve the ticketing crisis.
Facebook users said those stuck outside were told a one-out-one-in policy may mean a wait of several hours. Many people asked for refunds.
Kenneth Macleod from Paisley said: ‘It’s chaos. It’s full to capacity, apparently... There is going to be a riot.’
Tory MSP Jamie Greene tweeted: ‘Queuing for 3 hours... some people paid nearly fifty quid and been told to leave Q as there no chance of entry.’
The event’s Facebook page read: ‘The event has reached its capacity and we are unable to let anyone else in.’
