Tech start-up targets ethics of fashion
A TECHNOLOGY startup that promises to connect fashion firms to ethical suppliers has raised funds for growth that value the venture at £5 million.
Common Objective, backed by former Jaeger owner and ex-British Fashion Council chairman Harold Tillman, uses technology to help industry professionals track where clothing is sourced – from cotton farms to factories.
Tillman, chairman of the Ethical Fashion Group, said the new initiative met ‘the growing customer demand to know where and how their garments and accessories are made’.
Common Objective director Sally O’Rourke, co-founder of Brand Love, led the fundraising of £500,000, which could be raised to £750,000 following initial demand. The funds will be used to accelerate growth.
