Now that’s upsizing... Tamara’s LA move to Petra’s 123-room pile

-

SHE has a £70 million London mansion, with 57 rooms including a bathroom with a gold-plated tub and a giant softplay room for her daughter.

But it seems all this just isn’t enough any more for multi-millionaire socialite Tamara Ecclestone. I hear she is ready to decamp to Los Angeles to live with her little sister, Petra – whose pile dwarfs Tamara’s with an eye-watering 123 rooms.

Tamara, 34, has spent the past four weeks in Tinseltown, where her husband Jay Rutland opened a branch of his Maddox Gallery as he attempts to expand his art empire on the other side of the Atlantic. Tamara has been keen to make the move to California since she waved her sister off in March. It appears her mind was made up during her stateside summer holiday because she took to social media to tell her followers: ‘I feel a move to LA may be on the cards. Miss my best friend too much.’

Tamara, Jay, 37, and their four-year-old daughter Sophia stayed at Petra’s £160million super mansion in the Holmby Hills neighbourhood of LA.

It was built for the late TV mogul Aaron Spelling, and while Petra is trying to sell it she is living there with boyfriend Sam Palmer and her three sons from her marriage to James Stunt which ended in 2017.

So, should Tamara and her family need somewhere to stay while they find a home up to their standards, there will be plenty of room. The massive house has three rooms that have been put aside simply for wrapping presents in.

It’s understood that Tamara wants to spend six months of the year in LA.

A friend of Tamara’s told me: ‘She misses her little sister desperately. Her trip to LA in the summer compounded that, and with Jay opening his gallery it is the perfect time to make the move.’

Tamara already has a set of A-list friends in Hollywood – she’s been seen hanging out with Simon Cowell and Ed Sheeran during her summer trip.

Petra, 29, quit the UK in March after her custody battle with Stunt had come to an end. She said she no longer felt safe in London following a petrol bomb attack on her Chelsea home.

She said: ‘It’s crazy how unsafe the UK has become. You don’t feel safe walking around the neighbourhood.’
