I might Potter with fiction, says Nicola

The Scottish Mail on Sunday - - The Agent Boot File -

COULD Nicola Sturgeon be a Nationalist JK Rowling in the making? Grilled on TV last week by an audience of schoolchildren, she revealed that as a child her ambition was to be a children’s author, adding: ‘Who knows? Maybe in the future I might do that.’ While she may lack the Harry Potter author’s magic touch, the First Minister’s policies do suggest she has a talent for fiction, even if Harry Potter And The Growth Commission does sound a bit far-fetched. So far she has failed to cast the independence spell over Scots with Harry Potter And The Referendum Of Doom.

REALITY is not always the SNP’s strongest suit but Miss Sturgeon did her best when the schoolkids asked her which reality TV show she would most like to appear on. She was quick to dismiss Bake Off, saying she ‘can’t cook or bake’, while ballroom dancing was Strictly not for her as ‘I’ve got two left feet’. But in a pair of skates, she conceded, she would quite like to try Dancing On Ice. ‘I used to do ice skating quite a lot,’ mused the First Minister. Some might argue she’s been skating on thin ice ever since.
