NICOLA

The Scottish Mail on Sunday - - Comment -

Sturgeon and I have something in common, I finally find this week. We were both bullied at primary school. But I have to say that, among all the touchy-feely selfies of the First Minister and the school visits and confessions, I find a new sense of bullying.

I cannot think of a government that has spent more time visiting schools, presenting its Ministers as celebrities and peddling propaganda.

Curriculums have been changed, reading lists altered. This is not as much about improving schools – which the SNP patently hasn’t – as trying to indoctrinate pupils.

Education should be about opening young minds, not closing them.
