How Murray braved a Farce of darkness

MANY moderate Labour MPs are afraid to stand up to Jeremy Corbyn, but Ian Murray is not one of them – quitting as shadow Scottish secretary because he felt Corbyn was a useless leader of the opposition. Yet the Edinburgh South MP is afraid of some things, admitting last week that as a child he was ‘petrified of Darth Vader – and still am’. But unlike the Star Wars villain, a doddery old man with a beard and an allotment could never faze Mr Murray. As he was too kind to say in his resignation letter to Corbyn: ‘May the Farce be with you.’
