Freed from prison – by a guitar...
CLAPTON became drunk and troublesome on board a flight to Tulsa, Oklahoma. The police were waiting and, when he stepped off the plane, he was thrown into the cells, unable to convince anyone he was the Eric Clapton – until a guitar was produced for him to prove it. Which he did.
He was then released at a cost of only $25, joining his band on stage at 9pm.
